Key Personnel:

Mr. M. W. Hui, Managing Director

Mr. Ronnie Shum, President

Founded in 1984, Air-City Co., Ltd. was initially focused on air freight between Hong Kong and New York. Today, it has 400 employees working in 15 offices. It’s headquartered in Hong Kong with an office in New York and offices in Beijing, Chongqing, Dalian, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Qingdao, Quanzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Xiamen, its headquarters in China. It continues to have a good amount of cargo volume between Hong Kong and China to the United States.

Air-City started business in China in 1993 and set up a joint venture company in China in 1996. After 2004, it became a wholly-owned company named Air-City (Xiamen) Freight International Co., Ltd.

Air-City holds an non-vessel-operating common carrier (NVOCC) license for ocean freight and Class A license for air freight. Its Quanzhou office is the only one without a Class A license. It is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA).

Air-City has a wide range of experience in all kinds of commodities such as garments on hangers (GOH), electronics, livestock, perishables, fragile and delicate items, valuable items, heavy and bulky machinery, and chemicals. Sinopec, CNPC, and CP Steel are a few of its key customers.

According to Mr. Hui, Air-City has a quality management and leadership team. Each member of its management team has over 20 years of experience in logistics. Employees are trained to act as partners in its customers’ business to ensure every shipment is handled in the fastest, safest and most cost-effective manner. For years, Air-City has invested extensively in education and training with programs covering shipping, international trade, finance, and information technology.

For IT, Air-City signed with Pangaea, an Australian-based software developer, to provide live shipment tracking and an order management system to link with customers, agents and carriers.

Air-City’s strength is in air and ocean freight forwarding as it does not have much experience in warehouse management.
